So the holidays are approaching... blah blah blah. Time to bust out that plastic and try to find the perfect gift for your Great Aunt Mildred. Instead of getting her the twenty-sixth pair of slippers she'll receive this season, how about taking a different route? There are many things you biiitches on a budget can do this season which will have your recipients raving. Seeing the economy is in the gutter, I think even Santa will be taking this advice.
You can make cookies that no one else has mastered. Like an espresso brownie batch wrapped in pretty paper. Or if your pal has a pooch you could make the coolest pooch cookie cut outs the pound has ever seen!
A great thing which is easy on your pretty patent leather wallet is volunteering. In five years, do you really think your friend, aunt, cousin, mom or dad will remember that awesome pencil sharpener with matching pencils? They will remember that time they helped out at the shelter and the wild homeless man serenaded them with his own rendition of Feliz Navidad. I bet you they will remember that holiday cheer! I bet you a bizzillion dollars. I know because I did it and my friend still mentions it to this day.
Another great betch find is Trader Joe's flower department. They are a steal deal. You can put your own holiday flare, bows, ribbons and pizazz for a beautiful holiday arrangement for your boyfriend's mom, or your neighbor who always lets you in when you are wasted at 3 am and are locked out.
